Welcome To The Revolution
I spent years assuming exhaustion was part of the job. After about 15 years in nursing, I have some questions about what we’ve learned to accept.
The Regulated Revolution is where we talk about what healthcare asks of us, what we carry home, and how we find our way back to ourselves. There’s room for dark humor, practical recovery tools, and honest conversations about the conditions that need to change.
I believe we deserve to feel better. I also believe healthcare has a responsibility to do better.

Stop Calling Everything Burnout
We joke about running on caffeine and dark humor. I even have the mug to prove it. But behind the jokes are the patient stories that keep us up at night and the red tape that keeps us from providing the care our patients need. We’ve gotten used to calling all of it burnout. When we give every hurt the same name, we keep offering the same solutions. And we can’t pizza-party our way out of all of it.
The Badge Comes Off. The Identity Doesn’t.
Our badges carry meaning, pride, and trust.
They also hide the stains. In my case, it’s mustard. 🙃
Real life. Real shift.
But the metaphor stands.
Am I Burned Out OR Just Tired?
When sleep and days off don’t help anymore, it’s worth asking what your nervous system is carrying.
